Vadim Muntagirov

Apogee Merit Scholar, Apogee World Scholar

London, England

Vadim Muntagirov

Vadim Muntagirov received Apogee Merit Scholarships from the Foundation in each of the 2000/2001, 2001/2002, 2002/2003 and 2004/2005 academic years, beginning from the first year of his entry into the Perm State Ballet School when he was immediately identified by Apogee representatives as a person of extraordinary ability. He was subsequently named an Apogee World Scholar for the 2005/2006 academic year.

In January 2006, Vadim became one of the youngest winners ever of the Prix de Lausanne, the world's premier competition for young dancers. Apogee had identified and facilitated the development and recognition his talent fully five years ahead of any other international organization, however. In the months which followed, he also won the grand prizes at the Kazan International Ballet Competition and the St. Petersburg International Ballet Competition (where he was the youngest participant), as well as taking second prize in the Perm International Ballet Competition (which was won by a soloist from the Mariinsky Ballet nearly ten years his senior). On the basis of his performances at the St. Petersburg International Ballet Competition, the competition jury chaired by Natalya Makarova awarded Vadim the title"Hope of Russia."
