Galina K. Kuznetsova
Achievement Award Laureate
Moscow, Russia

Galina Konstantinovna Kuznetsova graduated from the Leningrad Choreography School and danced thereafter in the Perm State Theater of Opera and Ballet, a career which was interrupted by service at the Ukrainian front during the Second World War. Ms. Kuznetsova thereafter began her work as an instructor at the Perm State Ballet School.
In 1974, Ms. Kuznetsova began work as an instructor at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy, uniting all three of Russia's great academic traditions from the St. Petersburg, Perm and Moscow schools. In 1999, she was appointed as a professor on the faculty, and in 2003 she was named head of the department of female technique at the Academy after many years as assistant department head under the school's prior Rector. She also was elected to serve as a member of the governing and artistic boards of the Academy.
Above is shown a placard mounted in the hallways of the Academy which depicts the career of Ms. Litavkina and her world class students.
