Apogee Merit Scholar and Rising Star Award Laureate
Based on his performances at the Crescendo Festival in St. Petersburg, Artur Naziullin was named an Apogee Merit Scholar for the 2006/2007 academic year. Subsequently, based on his performances at Apogee's first international music festival in Odessa, he also was selected to receive the Foundation's Rising Star Award.
Arthur Naziullin was born in 1988 in the city of Ufa, Russia, where he began studying the clarinet at age 11. He is now a student in the graduating class of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory Music College, where he studies with National Artist of Russia, Professor Rafael Bagdasaryan.
He has been previously award first prize in the 2005 International Clarinet Competition in Moscow, the grand prize and the special prize "Talent" in the 2004 New Names Competition, and second prize in the 2002 "Symphony" International Competition as well as the special prize "Hope".
He also has participated in numerous international festivals and on the basis of his participation in the First Apogee Music Festival in Odessa he shared with Arseniy Chubachin the Foundation's "Rising Star Award," presented to the festival's top two performers by Apogee's international jury in attendance.
